The Meaning of Christmas

The Meaning of Christmas
Kate Pope

When else would people have tree’s in their rooms?
Have cheesy songs playing by the fireplace fumes?
When else would you eat chocolate from a cheap box?
Have cookies shaped like canes and abnormal shaped socks?
When else would you give cards to everyone you know?
Have three big balls with a carrot sitting in the snow?
When else would you give presents all around?
Have a carriage in the sky land on your roof with no sound?
When else would you hang shiny balls off sticks?
Have an old man in a red suit slide down through your bricks?
Only christmas
He answers with a grin on his face
Only christmas
It’s the one and the only case
