Weightless

Weightless

The ship cuts through
white-browed waters of
halting pandemonium
and everlasting staticity:
a ghost-vessel, gliding
through a sea no-one
ever ever believed in.
A full wind sweeps by,
and it is just as glorious

as the head of a rising melody.

Let the world fall away,
it whispers. And I will
take you to
the next world
and you can dream for all
eternity.

A hand holds out
the red-skinned apple. And
dark eyes widen.

You could be weightless,
it whispers. Nothing.

Tired fingers close around
the red-skinned apple. And
dark eyes close.
