The 5 Best Moments of the 88th Academy Awards (According to Maddy & Rachel)

Last night was the night that all award show lovers have been waiting for: the Academy Awards. Being movie lovers ourselves, we blocked off our whole for this occasion. With the remote in one hand, and our phones in the other, we laughed, cried, and reacted to all the shenanigans that occurred in the Dolby Theatre. In our opinion, here are the top 5 best moments from the Oscars last night:

  1. Jacob Tremblay and all of his cuteness

Although he wasn’t nominated, Tremblay (ie. the cutest Canadian alive) was a crowd pleaser. The pint sized star adorably geeked out when C-3P0, R2D2, and BB8 all came out on the stage.  He was even cuter when he went to announce an award on stage and had to stand on a box because he couldn’t reach the microphone.

2. Lady Gaga’s performance

Lady Gaga never fails to amaze, especially this year with her utterly powerful performance of “‘Til It Happens To You”. Written for the documentary, The Hunting Ground, the song shed light on the issue of sexual abuse.

3. Spotlight‘s surprise win

The film swept up best picture, beating out films such as The Revenant, Room, and Brooklyn.

4. LEO DICAPRIO FINALLY WON AN OSCAR
