It’s only the first month of school, yet most of us are already feeling the stress. Sometimes, all you want to do is go back to summer and be able to wake up at 2:00 in the afternoon; but, that’s not realistic. Therefore, to help you cope with the never-ending stress of school, I’ve found some tips to help you survive the upcoming year.
First of all, don’t procrastinate. I personally tend to procrastinate a lot, and I always end up regretting it. If you continue to play Candy Crush for hours instead of studying for your exam, you’ll most likely receive a poor mark.
Next, don’t cram everything! Divide your work into sections; this makes it much more manageable and it’ll even seem much easier. Instead of having to finish a huge unit project, you’ll have several mini projects, which makes the task seem simpler.
For my third tip, get enough sleep. Sleeping is a vital part of your daily routine and you will function better with proper sleep. Aim for 7 or 8 hours at the least — if possible, aim for 9. Don’t stay up late doing homework or studying. Plus, if you’re doing homework into the late hours of the night, that probably means you’re cramming the night before it’s due, which I just advised against.
My final tip is to relax! It’s always okay to take small breaks in between studying. Studying constantly isn’t the best and can stress you out significantly. Personally, I’ll sometimes read, draw, or eat some of my favourite foods to help me unwind.
See you next week!
