Time is Running Out

Time was running out.

We knew that we had to be thorough but time was running out.

The lock clicked and we rushed to get out of the middle of the room;

because time was running out.

My hands were sweating and my head aching because I knew that time was running out.

My mind was screaming but my mouth was shut because I knew that time was running out.

I don’t know why we are waiting or why we are rushing, I only knew that time was running out.

Tick… tock… time was running out.

I realized I needed to get out because time was running out.

I ran to the door, but it wouldn’t open; my stomach dropped because time was running out.

My hands shook when I needed them to be steady; because time was running out.

The door finally opened and I don’t know why I ran, but maybe because time was running out.

The fatigue finally kicked in, but I couldn’t stop; time was running out.

I suddenly stopped because I knew that time had run out.
