Words Upon Words, Hurt Upon Hurt by Colette D.D.
You don’t realize,
You don’t realize how words burn through my skin,
Or how whispers slither through my mind, and never leave,
You don’t understand,
How your judging eyes force me to lower my own,
You don’t care.
You say that my emotions aren’t worth my time,
That my choices don’t matter,
That my body is useless.
But those are lies,
Yet somehow, the hate in your eyes travels back to my mirror.
Revealing the flaws that I try so desperately to hide.
You leave your mark on me,
A black hole,
Snatching the light in my life away.
