Lovesick by Michelle L.

Lovesick

My heart beats abnormally because of you

Blood rushing, face flushing, tears gushing

I tried to be my own doctor

But your medicine is the sweetest

You’re like air

Yet, when you’re there

It suffocates me.

You don’t play fair

And, you’ll never be here

Why can’t I let it be?

I was only diagnosed when it was too late

Increasing heart rate,

Unpleasing hard fate

My bleeding heart seeps through old bandages

The truth of false hope stings until I can not cope

And now,

the only cure I can think of

is the hardest pill to swallow.
